Today (2012), we have been exposed to a radical new genre of music called Dubstep. Dubstep is a low frequency music that consists of alternating multiple tones to form an audible wobble. The interesting thing about dubstep is that it is widely enjoyed by many types of people, including children and elderly. There have been no formal tests on this theory, but my guess is the reasoning for its popularity is based on the low frequencies. Much like Binaural Beats, which have been used for meditation purpose for a while, Dubstep shares the art of mixing seperate low frequency tones to stimulate the mind. This art is shared in many music genres, from triphop, to ambient, to groove, to trance and even to Koomhi, or sacred Throat Singing. This effect on the human mind is very common in nature as well, as it is found during seismic activity, and even emmited from large caves. It has often been used as a form of natural meditation in its slower state. Dubstep in particular can be slightly eclectic. Although, dubstep is vast in its entirity and can apply to any tones or music. There is bound to be a Dubstep Sub-Genre you like.
Here a few of my personal Favorites: (these are smooth dubstep) Phaelae Pretty Lights edIT (Glitch Mob) Emancipator
