The hippies were at their peak in pop culture in the 1960s and had a huge impact on the way the people percieved the world. The hippies stood for a one-ness with nature and the surrounding energies. They wanted to drop out of the corporate world, and tune in to the consciousness. They used hallucinagens to experience the world in a new way, and they used powerful new music to open the ears, and EYES, of the listeners. Because of the sheer mass population of the hippy culture, they became the enemy. They were fighting for something that world was not ready for so they were viewed as in the way. This caused violence between law enforcement and the hippies and streetfolk, which led to arrests and the gradual death of the hippie culture. But did the hippies REALLY die? Todays pop culture is full of a whole new generation of light workers and free-thinkers. There even high numbers of activists ready for the battle of revolution, in a stand called the Occupy Movement. The popular attire has slowly turned back in time and the new 'hipster' style is 'in'. Is the population beginning to realize that maybe the hippies werent so wrong? Or do we sense that if we do not find drastic change... the world will follow. Think about it... and read up!
